Did you find those at the mall?

[ his many shirts. how fashionable are they. ]

[ there's a mix, but they seem to be mostly plain. a lot of green and teal. ]

Yes, to both. It's useful to stock up. Would you like a donut?

[ they're pretty elaborate fancy ones. ]

Week 2, Monday

[ what's up... we're in cloudtopia...

kate is staring out at the bright and fluffy scenery... ]

[ how did we get out here. whatever it's fine. fun exploring. kate contrasts so much in this place... ]

Yes, it is. [ looking around with a vague grimace. ] This reminds me of home.

maybe they're in the gardens? tending to his flowers. would you like to learn a little gardening, kate?

Week 4, Saturday

[ after the trial. ]

... It felt like we were really close. To figuring out Maya's, I mean.

[ there's little of the careful, but nevertheless generally present, openness he usually takes with her. he's clipped, frustrated. ]

There were few options remaining. [ frowns. ] What did you think? Honestly.

... Some of the evidence had to be fabricated. So perhaps it's a matter of figuring out which was and wasn't.

Week 5, Monday

[ sometime after our deadmeows emerged, kate can be found at the grand library!

she's looking over the shelves with feelings of awe and joy that are clearly tangible and currently outshining the background noise of anxiety she otherwise feels. ]

There's so much... If only we had a place like this sooner.

[ while his own emotions are muted, carefully controlled, there's slight undercurrents that can be felt because otherwise this week would be real boring

and he's also pleased! and genuinely happy to see kate so enthused as well. ]

Nonfiction, usually... I like learning about the world, and how things work.

w5 friday

[toxicate]

[ he's in the indoor gardens, but gardening when one side of your neck and shoulder is still missing a chunk is pretty difficult. so he's just going slow, looking a little distant. ]

[ there are some distant, complicated feelings as kate walks in here... but then she sees mordalion, and her thoughts are pulled away from whatever she was mulling over moments ago. ]

Is it okay for you to be working like this? You're still hurt, aren't you?

[toxicate]

[ if he registers her mixed emotions, he doesn't seem to react to them. instead he hums, not looking up from pruning a few overzealous plants. ]

Someone needs to look after them. The last thing we need is more things dying.

Week 6, Monday

[ kate's at "sharpest image," checking out the gadgets!

she claps, and all of the lamps on a nearby shelf turn on. she claps again, and they all turn off.

her thoughts are just wow... ]

Week 7, Monday

[ hanging around where we can see the actual outdoors... yay. ]

It's such a relief to see everyone back, isn't it?

[ it's actually nice out here..! and welcome given how crowded it suddenly is. ]

I'm glad everyone is okay, but things got very busy very quickly.

Week 7, Saturday

[ she's at the flight deck, gazing out at the runway... ]

[ the runway that might actually get used for planes and not murder...

he rests a hand gently on her shoulder. ]
